On October 28th and 29th, Mayors for Peace celebrated the 13th Executive Conference Meeting and the 4th Board Meeting of the European Chapter in Manchester (United Kingdom), together with 9 cities and 1 chapter.
The 28th kicked off with a reflective ceremony and the offering of flowers at the Glade of Light, followed by a visit to Manchester Cathedral. The conference was opened by the President of Mayors for Peace and the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Paul Andrews. The meeting started with a review of the Progress Report of the Action Plan 2021-2025, the initiatives of the next Action Plan, and the commemorative initiatives of the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings for 2025.
On the 29th members of the European Chapter met for the 4th Board Meeting of the Chapter. The meeting was led by the councillor Tommy Judge from Manchester. In this meeting, different topics were discussed such as the approval of the 2023 Board of Directors report, the recognition of the 2024 Report, a summary of the Chapter’s main initiatives, as well as the 2025 Operational Plan of the European Chapter. After the meeting, the members attended a visit the Mines Advisory Group.
