Ahmed Lindov, the Deputy Mayor in Kvinesdal municipality (Norway), has carried out many activities on behalf of Mayors for Peace in between June and August of this year. Firstly, he met with Deputy Mayor Avdic of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to talk about the importance of this city playing an active role as it is an executive city of Mayors for Peace. Then, the Kvinesdal Deputy Mayor visited several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to try and increase the number of members and activities in this country. He first met with the mayor of Buzim, Mersudin Nanic, since this small municipality was heavily exposed during the war and they fought bravely for peace and human rights. The mayor promised to put forward a proposal for his municipal council to sign up for the Mayors for Peace initiative. Lindov then visited Kakanj, a mining town in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. When meeting with its mayor, Mirnes Bajtarevic, Lindov got confirmation of Kakanj joining Mayors for Peace, which became real when they signed during August 2024. Lastly, he went to the Zivince Open 2024, an international business conference, and, before the conference, he met with Mayor Began Muhic, who confirmed they would summit the papers to join Mayors for Peace by the end of September 2024. As promised, Zivince became a member city of Mayors for Peace in October 2024. Ahmed Lindov is also working on starting an international peace conference in Norway and visiting several Norwegian cities to invite them to join Mayors for Peace between September and December.
